About our Worship

With a beautiful nave and an ear for the best church music of the last five centuries, First Evangelical enjoys a rich worship tradition. The worship service of First is based in Word and Sacrament and it takes advantage of the best of our Lutheran heritage. Much of our music is from the Renaissance and early Baroque eras, as voices soar to proclaim the glory of God. We enjoy the tones of our pipe organ, which is over 100 years old and the beautiful ambiance of the plentiful hand-carved wood. Our preaching tradition is firmly in the Lutheran style, bearing witness to Christ and him crucified and presenting the gospel as relevant and contemporary as ever.
